The latest from the mountune powered world of Motorsport

World RX Round 4 - Silverstone

May Bank Holiday weekend saw the all new Silverstone Rallycross circuit play home to Round 4 of this years FIA WRX Championship.

The Olsbergs Team were out in force at the SpeedMachineUK event in their mountune-powered Ford Fiesta Supercars and did well to gain points in the qualifying sessions.

Larsson unfortunately spun out in Q4 ending his day there, but teammate Eriksson took P4 in the final qualifying session, making his way to the Semi's where he finished 5th, missing out on a place in the Final.

We look forward to seeing the team out again at Norway this weekend.

Irish RX Round 3 - Tynagh

mountune-powered Derek Tohill was again out on track at the Irish Rally Cross held over the Bank Holiday weekend, this time held at Tynagh Circuit, Co. Galway.

The double FIA European Rallycross Champion has had a fantastic start to the 2018 Irish Rallycross championship taking the top step at both Round 1 & 2 and again in Round 3, making it a hat trick of SuperCar and Super Final wins for the Irish Man.

Nordic RX Round 2 - Arvika

Round 2 of the Nordic Rallycross championship was held last weekend at the Arvika track, Sweden, where all eyes were on mountune-powered championship leader Thomas Bryntesson, who's had a perfect start to the 2018 season.

The 22yr old Swede continued his winning momentum in the qualifying rounds taking P1 in all 3 races, getting a perfect 50-50-50 score, and advancing him to the Semi's, where he maintained his P1 start throughout, crossing the line in first.

Bryntesson had the fastest pace in the start of the Final race, but some close battles with other competitors resulted in a major puncture dropping him down the grid, however he still managed to maintain the speed, but a spin in the final corner meant he finished P4.

Team mate Ola Frøshaug also had a good weekend in his mountune-powered Ford Fiesta Supercar, gaining P6, P6, P8 in the three qualifying sessions and advancing to the Semi's where he started in P3 and finished in P4, just missing out on a spot in the final race of the day.

Mats Ohman saw a top 10 finish in Q1, but Q2 resulted in a DNS after experiencing issues with his car.  Q3 saw him finish in seventh, but unfortunately he didn't make it through to the Semi's this time.

mountune-powered Olsbergs MSE Driver, Oliver Eriksson did well in the qualifying rounds, taking P10, P3 and P2, gaining enough points to get himself a place in the Semi's.

Starting the grid in P2, Eriksson managed to maintain his position to the end of the race, subsequently getting a spot in the final where he started in P4, however a black flag was issued and his race day ended with an EXC.

CTCC Round 3 - Guangdong

The Changan Ford FRD team saw a new addition to their line-up last weekend with current TCR China championship leader Sunny Wong being drafted in to replace Zhang Da Sheng, and join He, Yan and Cao at their third meet of the 2018 championship.

Qualifying resulted in two, top 10 finishes for the team, with Yan taking P6 and Cao P9 in their mountune-powered Ford Focus 2.0T's.  Race 1 saw both drivers climb the grid and advance on their starting positions, with Yan completing the podium in third place, and Cao crossing the line in P7, followed by teammate He in P8.

A reverse grid for Race 2 saw He make a positive start before the safety car was deployed in Lap 4 following an incident involving Andy Yan, which ended his race weekend.  The race restarted in Lap 9 and saw He fight to maintain his position but a battle on Lap 14 saw the Ford driver drop to sixth, where he finished the race, with Wong in P7 and Cao finishing in P10.
