The latest from the mountune-powered FIA World & European RallyX

Höljes played host to this weekends World RallyX Championship race, the highlight of the WRX calendar,  in what was dubbed the 'Magic Weekend' with WRX, ERX and RX2 all taking to the track, which saw a record breaking 51,600 visitors in attendance.

The Olsbergs MSE boys were out on track in their mountune-powered Supercars and qualifying sessions saw a mix of top 15 results for both drivers.

Eriksson suffered tough qualifying rounds and pushed hard but was a little off pace and lagged towards the middle of the grid, unfortunately not making enough points to see him progress any further.  Post Round 6, Eriksson sits in P14 in the Championship table.

Teammate Larsson did however gain enough points with his P9, P12, P9 and P11 finishes to progress to Semi-Final 2, where he finished in P6 after a flat tyre ended his chances of a shot in the Final race of the day.  Larsson currently sits in 11th place in the official standings.

Reigning RallyX Nordic Champion Bryntesson and teammate Froshaug were hopeful of better results at their home event of Höljes and both saw some great results in the qualifying sessions.

Bryntesson took P2 in the first race of the day, followed by a stunning P1, P6 and P3, with Froshaug in at P9, P14, P18 and P15, both earning enough points to get them places in the Semi-Final

Bryntesson lined the grid in the first of the Semi-Final's, progressing onto the Final race of the day.  A thrilling Final saw him take the second step of the podium with a P2 finish, which puts him in 8th position in the Official Championship Standings.

Froshaug, who battled in Semi-Final 2 crossed the line in P6, ending his Höljes race weekend, now sitting in 13th in the table.

mountune-powered Irish RallyX driver Derek Tohill also competed in Round 3 of this years Championship.  The former Double-Time European Champion didn't see much luck at this weekends race with several battles during the qualifying sessions resulting in some suspension issues, however Tohill qualified for a place in the Semi-Finals with the car back up and running.

Unfortunately, contact with another competitor on the joker exit of Q4 meant Tohill exceeded the track limit and a controversial 5 second penalty was later issued, resulting in him being withdrawn from the Semi-Final, and his retiring from the weekends racing.  Tohill currently sits in 14th place in the Official Championship Standings.

Mats Ohman was out in force following his positive run in the Nordic RallyX championship earlier this month in his mountune-powered Ford Fiesta Supercar, and the 4 qualifying sessions saw him gain enough points to reach the Semi-Finals, where he ended his race day in P5.  Ohman currently sits 18th in the Official Championship Standings.
