2018 Nordic RallyX gets underway

Nordic RallyX Round 1 - Holjes

Round 1 of the 2018 Nordic RallyX kicked off this weekend, with four mountune-powered drivers lining the grid at the legendary Höljes, Sweden.

Reigning 2017 Champion Thomas Bryntesson and teammate Ola Frøshaug are both again racing with JC Raceteknik for their 2018 challenge, and started their series off well after a successful first round.

The Qualifying and Semi-Finals both saw some great results for the pair, with Bryntesson advancing to the final, unlike Frøshaug who didn’t make the closing race after finishing 3rd in the semi’s.

Bryntesson lined up in P2 on the grid and with a sharp manoeuvre early on, took the lights to flag victory in his mountune-powered Ford Fiesta Supercar, taking the top step of the podium, where he left the championship in 2017.

Joining him on the stage in P3 was Mats Öhman, another driver powered with a mountune 2.0 engine.  Öhman was the third and final driver to cross the line after a bruising final saw the rest of the grid not reach the chequered flag.

After an impressive win in the winter RallyX on Ice series, Olsbergs' Oliver Eriksson turns his attention to the Nordic RallyX and joined the grid in Sweden this weekend, piloting his mountune-powered Ford Fiesta ST.  Eriksson did well in Q1 & 2 however, a DNF in Q3 saw him retire early from the first weekend of the championship.

We look forward to seeing the drivers and cars out on track at their next races!

British RallyX Round 3 - Croft

This weekend saw the third round of the British RallyCross Championship happen at Croft Circuit, unfortunately with no mountune-powered cars on track.

Due to transmission development issues, Kevin Procter was forced to withdraw his Ford Fiesta Supercar from the weekend's races, but we look forward to seeing him back for Round 4, Pembrey mid-June.
